The Kings River pyrg is in the news to start the New Year! People of Red Mountain, along with Western Watersheds Project, have given the government and Lithium Americas notice of intent to sue based on their failure to properly monitor groundwater impacts due to the Thacker Pass lithium mine. Republican, Democrat, all want in on lithium mining. Deb Haaland, Biden’s Secretary of the Interior and member of Laguna Pueblo, won’t even lend an ear to the concerns of Paiute, Shoshone, and Bannock people. Yet, People of Red Mountain stand, against the mine, against the corporation, against the state.
