The Lands We Work to Protect

The McDermitt Caldera is threatened by several claims for lithium exploration and extraction. The mine under construction at Peehee Mu’huh (Thacker Pass) is located at the southern tip of the caldera. The Owyhee Canyonlands region to the north and east of the caldera is a further area of concern for unwanted mining and habitat disruption.
